Disability groups fight transport allowance changes

Over 25 disability groups from around the country have banded together to fight against proposed cuts to the Mobility Allowance for people with disability, illness or injury. The Social Services Legislation Amendment Bill 2016 will transition the current Mobility Allowance to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). There are concerns this move will leave many people with a disability without access transport which may lead to isolation and further limit employment opportunities.
