Disability advocates pin hopes on confronting royal commission findings to deliver reform

Advocates hope the findings of a Disability Royal Commission which is due to be handed down this week will prompt significant reform of the sector.

The four-and-a-half-year independent inquiry has been examining shocking stories of assault of some of Australia’s most vulnerable in disability group homes. An ABC Four Corners investigation aired on Monday night shone a light on exploitation of NDIS participants and human rights abuses endured by disabled people.
