The Murray river is the focus again this week with the release of the Murray Darling basin report, but Australia has many rivers that don’t need fixing. They’re the ones that Adam Keresjy spends his working life in.

Adam Keresjy is a freshwater fish scientist. The rivers he sees are the ones where the fish are native and free to cope with unpredictable flows. He says we have much to learn from the healthy desert rivers which flow freely and where native species don’t have to compete with alien species.
