Velvet is the name of a new, Brisbane based start-up company, looking to innovate the way we pay for Internet data.The company’s flagship product, the Velvet Hotshot, allows subscribers donate a portion of their monthly data usage for others to use, and in turn get paid for what they offer up. Where many internet user are paying for far more data than they actually use, the Velvet Hotshot allows users to sell on their excess data, altering the balance of power that internet providers have over the public of consumers.
