A report released last night has recommend 50 million dollars be spent annually to protect Australia’s honey bees. More than just honey producers, Australia’s bees contribute up to six billion dollars worth of agricultural produce, through pollination. On a global level, the bee industry has been hit hard by the deadly verroa mite. A parasitical bug that feeds off the blood of bees. Australia is the only country to date to escape the deadly infestation.
