In light of a recently published study, current New South Wales wild-dog management strategies need to be re-evaluated.

The study indicated that most ‘wild-dogs’ are actually dingoes or dingo-dominant hybrids, with only a very small percentage of wild-dogs having no dingo ancestry.

Dingo advocates suggest that, NSW’s management strategy should incorporate preservation and protection of the animals, while still trying to prevent and manage the negative impacts ‘wild-dogs’ have on livestock, and as an extension, farmers.
