David Hicks’ lawyer confident of overturning conviction

David Hicks has launched an appeal in the US Court of Military Commission Review, in an attempt to clear his name after being convicted of providing material support for terrorism in 2007. Hicks claims he agreed to the charges after being repeatedly beaten, sexually assaulted, threatened, deprived of sleep and told that he would never see his home country again. Now his lawyer Stephen Kenny is hopeful his conviction will be overturned after a precedent was set in a recent case won by Osama Bin Laden’s former driver.
