With the number of people marching in commemorative parades up around the nation, ANZAC Day is increasingly becoming a national day of celebration. But for some in the community, it hasn’t always been such a prideful day. Recognition of Indigenous veterans in the two World Wars has only recently begun to take shape. Warren Milra’s song: Too Dark for the Light Horse hits the mark with a lot of Indigenous people whose experience of the ANZAC legend hasn’t always been the same as other returned veterans. Warren leads a number of Indigenous people in sharing their experiences of the ANZAC legend.
