A report from the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission has called for the release of all children in detention. Commissioner Dr Sev Ozdowski says the Australian government is violating the Geneva convention on the rights of the child. Child psychiatrist Dr John Juaradini says many children suffer long term trauma from being in detention. The Government, however, has ruled out a changed in policy.
