Further repressive measures by China in response to Tibetan protests have recently pushed Buddhists to boiling point. The Chinese government are laying blame on the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, claiming he is encouraging the protestor’s violent actions. But in response, the Dalai Lama has publicly condemned the conflict as contradicting Buddhist principles and has proposed his resignation in order to prevent the situation from spiralling out of control.
