Child care could soon be more affordable and flexible, if the Productivity Commission gets its way. It has slammed the current system as failing to meet the needs of all families, at a rising cost to tax payers. The draft report has been met with a largely positive response by the peak body for early childhood education.But there are concerns about plans to cut support to parents who can’t prove they are working or studying.
