A cultural approach needed for indigenous mental health

Mood disorders, substance abuse, anxiety – they are all mental health disorders that affect indigenous people at much higher rates than the rest of the population according to a new study by  the University of Queensland’s Rural Clinical School. Dr Maree Toombs says the study has highlighted the importance of cultural connections in diagnosing and treating such illnesses.
