A large number of Catalonian voters will go to the polls on Sunday to decide their independence despite Spanish government insistence the vote will not go ahead.

The referendum is technically illegal under the Spanish constitution, which describes the country as indivisible and indissoluble.

Police have already confiscating thousands of ballot papers and the central government has chartered boatloads more to Barcelona and nearby cities.
