For many Australians, the Country Women’s Association conjures up ideas of handicraft and baked goods. In the fifties and sixties, however, the CWA played a surprising role, collaborating with Aboriginal women to improve race relations in rural Australia. Dr Jennifer Jones’ book ‘Country Women & the Colour Bar’ explores this relationship and shares the stories of these revolutionary women.
