Following Australia’s lead a number of Western Nations have expelled Syrian diplomats and are holding talks to discuss what other measures can be put in place to pressure Syria’s Assad regime to stop human rights abuses.
Also on the table is referral to the International Criminal Court of the recent massacre in Houla, a UN Arms embargo, and UN agreement on financial and travel restrictions on members of the Syrian regime. Minister Carr has refused to rule out military intervention as another possibility. But would it work?
