As the IT revolution rolls on, the information industry tries to keep up. Copyright laws presently being debated in the Senate propose that the increasingly blurry line between producers and consumers be refocused. Under the proposed laws it will be illegal to lend a video copy of a TV show you have made to your family or friends if you have already watched it. The same laws require that you delete the program once it’s been watched. The Wire spoke to David Palmer Executive Director of the Cyberspace Law and Policy Centre about the reality of the proposed copyright changes.
