Indigenous art sales have been booming in recent years, but there are fears that the original artists are still getting a raw deal from galleries and dealers . Federal Arts Minister Peter Garret just delivered his response to a senate inquiry into intellectual property and exploitation in the industry. But several legal experts are unhappy with his report, saying our copyright laws don’t protect the communal nature of indigenous art production.
