Deforestation is the next biggest contributor to climate change after fossil fuels, and in spite of a slight slowdown the forests of the world continue to disappear. Africa looms as the next threat with mining-driven plans to cut a huge network of roads through the jungle heartlands. It’s something due to be discussed at COP21 with the hope that binding agreements can be reached between rich and poor nations about mechanisms for saving forests.
