Interview with Doctor Gene E. Likens, Distinguished Senior Scientist from the Institute of Ecosystem Studies, New York. Dr. Likens and his colleagues were the first to discover acid rain and document its effects in the north-east of the USA. He has studied the effects of ecological change caused by humans within the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest for over 40 years. Dr Likens recently addressed Griffith University’s Australian Rivers Institute about ecosystem science and environmental change. Heidi Millington asked him about the roles of scientists and leaders in protecting our planet.
