Despite being the world’s youngest nation, South Sudan has been caught up in civil war since 2013.

The conflict is between the country’s two dominant ethnic groups, Dinka and Nuer.

The situation is made more complicated with President Salva Kiir and the now former Vice-President Riek Machar being from opposing sides.

A peace deal was formed in December last year, but last month renewed fighting saw hundreds killed.

This week a United Nations report says the continued fighting could see the already bleak humanitarian situation worsen.
