Australia’s high Indigenous incarceration rate is an ongoing issue. Previous reviews have been criticised for taking a “one size fits all” approach, but this week’s Indigenous health conference in Western Australia has focused on each community’s individual needs. Mick Gooda, Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner, explains what this conference brings to the wider discussion on Indigenous health.
