With the Kimberley’s rate of sexually transmitted infections the highest in Australia, the Broome Shire Council plans to make condoms freely available in parks and public areas where young people gather, a method that has already proved successful in other Kimberley towns with high Indigenous populations. The Wire spoke to the President of the Broome Shire Council, Graeme Campbell and the CEO of Marie Stopes Australia, Julie Mundy about the message of safe sex among young Indigenous communities.
