There has been both praise and concerns raised over the South Australian Ombudsman’s controversial decision to let prisoners access and write material on the iExpress website.

Justice Action, a not for profit organisation supporting prisoners by providing advocacy services to them, launched the website and are happy about the decision saying it gives prisoners the chance to present themselves in a more positive light.

However, South Australia’s Victim’s Rights Commissioner is worried about how the move will affect victims involved and says more safeguards should be in place to protect victims’ privacy.
