Community and Indigenous groups meet in Canberra

Over 130 individuals and groups have signed an open letter to Indigenous Affairs Minister Mal Brough asking the Federal Government to consult them in addressing problems in their communities and calling for “sustainable solutions, which must be worked out with communities, not prescribed from Canberra.” A series of workshops are planned for Canberra this week to help identify community-based solutions that can be submitted to the Government.
