Colombia is a country as old as the Americas, rich in history and culture but for the last 40 years it has known nothing but war and violence. Although the election and unprecedented re-election of Alvaro Uribe has seen a decline in out-and-out bloodshed, human rights abuses continue in a systematic fashion. Jodie Martire is a human rights observer with Peace Brigades International and she shares, in this interview, her experiences of Colombia over the past 15 months.
