Protesters will be rallying in Blacktown near Sydney tonight. They’re worried about coal seam gas operations encroaching on homes, with a new mine planned for the suburb next year.
Lock the Gate Alliance is protesting the NSW Governments lack of consultation with communities who are threatened by mining. They are outraged that a new two kilometre buffer zone between wind turbines and people’s houses doesn’t apply to coal seam gas operations.
