The heads of Australia’s states and territories converged on Canberra this Friday for another meeting of the Council of Australian Governments or COAG. Facing a largely Liberal contigent of Premiers and Chief Ministers, Prime Minister Julia Gillard was expected to be fighting an uphill battle. But, despite the odds, it was a harmonious COAG, with a number of agreements reached. Unfortunately none of those agreements were Gonski recommendations.
