Yesterday in Canberra, the Allied Health Professions Australia and the Indigenous Allied Health Australia celebrated the signature of the Statement of intent to close the gap on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders on the health industry.

The aims are to encourage Indigenous youth to get involved in the industry and to get culturally involved with the patient. Even though the timeframe from this statement came up in a short time, the background of it has been around for years.
