The Climate Commission was set up by the government to be an independent body to explain climate change science with authoritative and reliable information. And the release of a new report today – predicting more heatwaves for New South Wales by the end of the century – and a series of public forums around Australia are designed to do just that job. But questions are being raised about how effectively the Climate Commission has been able to deliver its message.

One scientist from the Climate Commission has condemned the media and public debate’s focus on personalities in the scientific community, and says the focus should be about the urgency of the climate change issue and solutions.
