Climate report forecasts uncertainty in Asia-Pacific region

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released its report today detailing the current and future effects of climate change across the globe. Australia’s forecast was predictably dire—there will be more bushfires, less rain and the Great Barrier Reef is still vulnerable.

But the impacts for the rest of the region are important to take note of, as the Asia Pacific faces the threat of rising sea levels and a lack of food security. As the effects of climate change worsen across the Asia Pacific, experts say it could become Australia’s problem as the region is destabilized.
