The Government’s Climate Change commission has released a report saying that we should be focused on the end-game: that is, a complete transition to a low or no carbon economy. The Commission warns against a focus on interim solutions to meet interim targets, and instead suggests that investments should be aimed at ambitious technologies that produce low or no emissions. The report also says that we need a new way of looking at the challenge of emissions reduction, because talk of different types of targets and timetables has confused the public.
