Climate action groups oppose governments carbon pollution reduction scheme

65 Climate Action Groups across Australia have rejected minister for environment, Penny Wong’s Carbon Pollution Scheme, saying that the threat of climate change can be dealt with alongside the global economic downturn. They’ve urged the government to focus on creating so-called ‘green jobs’ which they say will help the environment and create employment in these tough times. Annie Hastwell spoke to the groups’ spokesperson, Tracey Tipping, and asked what kind of jobs they were talking about.
