Three years on from the Christchurch earthquake, the city is still blighted by large, empty spaces. With some new infrastructure projects still years off, artists and other creative residents are filling the void. Empty spaces are being transformed into performances spaces and libraries, as residents find ways around the red tape of the rebuild.

Kyla Colvin is part of an organisation that’s called the Ministry of Awesome – they say their mission is to water the seeds of awesome in Christchurch.
