China’s new leaders remain a mystery as handover approaches

China is about to embark on a once in a decade leadership transition. The country will soon have a new president, and a raft of new faces amongst its top decision-making bodies. But despite global scrutiny, very little is known about what kind of policy changes we can expect as a result of the reshuffle. One expert has told The Wire that the new leaders will probably remain a mystery until momentous events – or even a crisis – force them to make some tough decisions.
