The Chinese scientific community has announced that they have successfully altered the genes of two human beings, for the very first time in history.

This ground-breaking development, although unconfirmed, has seen two twin girls genetically altered to resist the HIV virus and thus could offer the same resistance to other diseases for future generations.

However, the international medical community has reacted to this potential development with skepticism and condemnation. Although such an outcome is welcome, there is real concern about the prospect of the normalization of ‘designer babies’ and human experimentation.
