State health ministers are meeting in Brisbane today to discuss pathways that could lead to a change in the way food advertising relates to children. The ministers are discussing options for regulating the industry, ranging from self-regulation to outright bans. A study released to coincide with the conference has detailed new findings linking a high occurrence of junk food advertising with the growing number of obese Australian children.
