Today the Coalition asked childcare workers to hand back $62.5 million dollars allocated by the Labor government for a wage increase. The Labor government promised the funds earlier this year, but the Coalition wants to use the money for training and professional development.

Many childcare groups are outraged by the Coalition’s request, but other groups think that Labor’s original policy was flawed and more money is needed to help increase wages.
