Chloe’s Law, introduced into South Australian parliament, is the blanket legislation that will remove children at birth from parents who have been convicted of killing, causing serious harm or endangering the life of a previous child. Minister for Child Protection, John Rau, introduced the legislation in response to the raft of recommendations from the Coroner’s inquiry into the death of four-year-old Chloe Valentine. But there are concerns the potential law could cause harm to children by not making allowances for individual circumstances.
