Indigenous child protection lobby group, Family Matters, today released a report which reveals that Indigenous children are over 10 times more likely to be removed from their families by child protection authorities than other Australian children, with those figures set to triple by 2035. The alarming statistics have today led to controversial calls for a return to adoption instead of foster care and a ideological shift in the way these matters are handled.
