A giant crippled chicken kept the lunchtime crowds outside a central Sydney KFC entertained today but its message was serious. Jodi Ruckley from animal rights group PETA explained why KFC had been targeted for its refusal to insist on buying chickens that had been raised humanely. Laura Firle from the South Australian Farmers Federation Chicken Meats group said standards were in place and chickens in Australia did have relatively good lives.
