With the future of Adani’s proposed Carmichael coalmine in Queensland’s Galilee Basin still uncertain, last week both those in support and opposition of the project visited the company’s headquarters in India.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk invited a  group of regional mayors from the state to meet with senior management from Adani to get a better understanding of the company and show their support for the project.

Those in opposition disrupted the tour, raising concerns about the environmental impacts and the potential effect on tourism in the state.
