A proposal released today could drastically change the way history is being taught in Australian classrooms. The report by the National Curriculum board calls for a stronger emphasis on world history. They say that the change would reflect the country’s increasing international connections and its diverse population. But there have been concerns about the role indigenous history will play in the new subject curriculum.
