The world’s biggest cat-proof fence has just been finished in central Australia, part of the first step in a project that is set to eventually reintroduce threatened native species to an area of 94 square kilometers.
Named the Newhaven Wildlife Sanctuary, in a region which has the worst extinction rate in the world, this encircled site is where the Australian Wildlife Conservancy is creating a safe space within the cat-proof fence for endangered marsupials.
