Australia claims to be a first world country, but many of its indigenous population are living in third world conditions. Adelaide medical student Anthony Pisaniello experienced this first hand as he undertook a four-week clinical placement in Alice Springs Hospital. Working in the paediatric department he saw that the children there are among the sickest and most disadvantaged in the nation. Mr Pisaniello spoke to Ben Kelly about his time working in central Australia.
