The Redfern Aboriginal Corporation says it fears the future of community organisations following the death of CDEP across urban Australia. The Corporation now has 7 left from 80 participants after the Federal Government’s major overhaul to Indigenous employment came into effect a week ago. Meantime Jon Altman from the Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research says the government is ignoring the successful urban CDEP schemes to focus on placing Indigenous people in mainstream and corporate workplaces.
