National literacy and numeracy testing is back in the spotlight after a South Australian teacher admitted to cheating on the NAPLAN test. The teacher was dobbed in by another teacher when they were seen altering answers to the spelling test. The teacher has been stood down pending an investigation. This is just one of a series of allegations that teachers are fiddling with the tests to get the best outcomes. SO does this call into question results right across the nation. Branch President of the South Australian Education Union, Coreena Haythorpe says it’s an isolated incident.
