The Catholic Church has weighed into the “ethics-in-schools” debate by suggesting that proposed ethics classes should not be conducted at the same time as scripture. It follows a petition signed by 36,000 NSW Catholics claiming that religious children could miss out on ethics classes they may wish to attend if classes are held at different times. But ethics advocates say the Church’s suggestion is misguided.
