Caring for Country
A book launched this week has established the importance of Caring for Country as it challenges the public, policy makers and politicians about Aboriginal management of social and environmental issues.
People on Country, Vital Landscapes, Indigenous Futures is a collection of essays based on five years of collaborative research with academics and Indigenous Australians concerned with land care. It highlights that Aboriginal people can improve the environment when they use current methods with their traditional practices. It discusses the people who are living on and looking after the land as well as the continuous struggles they face and how policymakers can implement strategies to provide Aboriginal’s with more resources.
