Cardinal Pell says Church will cooperate with inquiry

After decades of campaigning by politicians, victims groups and various community groups a Royal Commission into child sex abuse was called by Julia Gillard last night. The issue came to a boiling point after a senior New South Wales police detective made explosive claims about cover ups during child sex abuse investigations. Cardinal George Pell addressed a Sydney press conference this afternoon and says he acknowledges the extent of the problem and the Catholic Church will cooperate with the Royal Commission Tawar Razaghi reports
