If you were in Sydney’s CBD today you would have seen packs of young Catholics milling on every street corner. These World Youth Day pilgrims will one day be married, have children and create a new generation of Catholics. But are Catholic policies like it’s stance against abortion and contraception contributing to overpopulation? The Archbishop of Sydney, Cardinal George Pell doesn’t think so, and yesterday called on the western world to have more children to avoid a social crisis.
